Al Ain gears up to host Legends Bodybuilding Championship

 

One of the largest tournaments to award remarkable prizes

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the green city of Al Ain is gearing up to host the Al Ain Legends Bodybuilding Championship and Expo on May 3 and 4, 2018. This first edition of the championship is organised by 101 Sports Project Management at the Al Ain Convention Centre. Fans of body building are in for a treat, as participants from all over the world converge for the largest event of its kind-both in terms of event size and the value of cash rewards which will reinforce Al Ain’s position as a leading destination for sports and fitness events in the region.

Abdulla Al Hammadi, Director of Al Ain Convention Centre, said: “Al Ain has a track record of hosting major sports and fitness events that attract considerable attention. It is of immense value for all of us that the city will host the region’s biggest and much-anticipated body building championship. The bodybuilding scene is gaining momentum in the region and Al Ain is proud to be at the forefront of all the action.”

The Al Ain Convention Centre is an ideal venue equipped with the latest facilities that would meet the needs of both the participants and spectators. Al Ain Convention Centre, the venue for the event, is adequately prepared to handle an event of this size and magnitude. Owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), the centre offers 12,900 square meters of exhibition and conference space. Built in a unique marquee style, the centre has hosted some of the most high-profile events in the region.

“The body building event will help build the right foundation for inculcating a love of fitness and outdoor activities among the youth and help build up an athletic community of youngsters that can compete nationally and internationally.” Al Hammadi concluded.

 

The exhibition is expected to attract 800 visitors and will throw the spotlight on fitness and health, accessible to all. The event will feature a mix of live shows and contests related to health, wellness, fitness, martial arts, Parkour, Thai Boxing, Kung Fu for Children, Bodybuilding. This much awaited event is being hosted with the aim of raising fitness levels in the city across all population categories through hosting international events of repute.

Al Ain Convention Centre is of strategic importance to the city of Al Ain, since it conducts events that bolster the image of the city as a favoured destination for business, entertainment and leisure. The hosting of popular events at the centre will also help fast-track infrastructure development in rural areas that will in turn, facilitate a higher standard of living in these areas.
