A Perfect afternoon was hosted by Ambassador Prabhu Dayal to celebrate the unveiling of his book Karachi Halwa in association with Zorba Books.
The book Karachi Halwa is based on Prabhu Dayal’s rich experience, while serving in the Karachi Consulate in Pakistan.Karachi Halwa is a witty and insightful portrayal of Zia ul Haq’s rule in Pakistan.
The afternoon witnessed a high power panel of Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar, M.P, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, M.P, Shri Pavan Varma, M.P,Gen. J.J.Singh, PVSM,AVSM,VSM,Ambassador G.Parthasarathy and Ambassador T.C.A.Raghavan among many other luminaries.
While there are many straight jacket books on different facets of Pakistan. So far there is not one book that provides inside story on Indo-Pak relations, with a vein of humour running through it. The book is a delightful, unique offering on Pakistan, one that is humourous, with little known facts of Zia Ul Haqs rule and Indo-Pak relations.
The style and substance of the books makes it suitable read for a very wide audience. Perhaps the reason that luminaries like Shashi Tharoor, G. Parthasarathy and others have given their reviews and are rooting for the book.
