  • Atos presents new apps for IoT ecosystem in Siemens MindSphere Lounge
  • Atos Codex transforms data into business outcomes
  • Bull sequana powers high performance data analytics

National, March 29, 2017: Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, will present its comprehensive range of services and expertise at the Hannover Messe, the world’s leading industrial show that takes place in Hanover, Germany from 24 to 28 April. At the Bitkom stand (K01) in hall 6 and in the Siemens MindSphere Lounge Atos presents the key data-driven solutions, use cases and technologies related to Big Data and data analytics.

As one of the first partners of MindSphere, the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens, Atos will be showcasing its data-driven solutions for the IoT ecosystem backed up by several use cases in the Siemens MindSphere Lounge (hall 9, stand D35). Atos is one of the first partners to offer ready to use apps for MindSphere customers and provides extensive IT and digital services for the digital cloud platform.

“Atos is the one-stop provider offering the necessary tools for industry companies to successfully implement their digital transformation. Our close partnership with Siemens distinguishes us and results in services and application for the MindSphere ecosystem. This is accompanied by our competencies in the area of high performance computing, our Analytics portfolio Atos Codex as well as Circuit”, says Winfried Holz, CEO of Atos Germany.

Atos one of the first partners to offer apps for Siemens MindSphere

MindSphere is the Siemens IoT operating system and the core element of a powerful, open cloud ecosystem offering a broad range of services: It enables the connection between machines and plants, prodiving apps, data analytics, developing tools as well as data-based services. In the MindSphere lounge Atos will be highlighting its end to end MindSphere related services, showing Atos capabilities as Consulting partner, Application developer, System integrator, Technology provider and Connectivity developer.

The apps developed by Atos highlight real added value for manufacturing companies. The apps integrate the production data with that from the various management systems and new analytic methods are possible.

Tangible cases for IoT and Data Analytics

At the Bitkom stand in hall 6, an original aircraft turbine illustrates the possibilities open to industry when, for example, networked production, predictive maintenance and additive manufacturing are introduced. In this way, spare parts are manufactured on-site, maintenance assignments can be managed remotely thanks to the use of augmented reality and data analytics solutions provide valuable insights.

On the basis of numerous proven use cases and tested applications, Atos demonstrates its expertise for Industry 4.0, IoT and the workplace of the future.

Atos Codex is the Atos’ suite offering business-driven analytics cognitive and IoT solutions and services. It includes consulting as well as application-, process- and industry-specific application services. As vast amounts of data are becoming more and more accessible for industry companies this also increases their needs to extract business value. Possible scenarios are efficiency gains through monitoring, predictive demand detection and forecasting the company’s day-to-day business. Numerous use cases demonstrate the economic advantages and Atos solutions for them.

One of those use cases is the remote service and maintenance of machines, which requires the machines to be connected and to exchange information. The Communication Platform developed by Worldline (and part of the Atos Codex suite), ensures this data exchange and remote access to the machines. The highly scalable Worldline Industrial IoT solution, based on Hybrid Cloud, enables bi-directional data exchange of machines located worldwide between machines and the Atos Codex data analytics. The ability to connect networks with different security policies can reduce communication costs. Due to the possibility that also service technicians can directly access the machine control via the platform, non-availability time is minimized.

Atos furthermore showcases innovative additive manufacturing solutions. They accelerate or reduce planning and procurement cycles, such as for spare parts for the maintenance of industrial equipment.

With Bull sequana, the Exascale class High Performance Computer by Atos, companies store and process valuable information from extensive data sets and can perform complex analysis. With these computing powers, which surpasses today’s supercomputers by a thousand times, Atos opens up new possibilities in the field of high performance computing (HPC). Bull sequana is therefore another crucial element of Atos Codex as it provides the necessary infrastructure for high performance data analytics projects.

Spatial boundaries between several production sites or experts and technicians onsite can be bridged thanks to the Unified Communication solutions from Unify, the communications specialist of Atos. In concrete application examples new opportunities for cooperation are possible, for example in the area of service engineering and web-based expert networks. An important element for this is Circuit, the WebRTC-based cloud service for communication and collaboration.

SAP HANA is the fundamental basis for numerous business processes. Atos, being a longtime and experienced SAP partner and full-service provider, supports industrial companies with all the necessary solutions, integration and implementation services to make the most of SAP HANA’s potential.
