BESC signs MoU with the ICAI

Kolkata March 30th, 2017.The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) signed a memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). The MoU was signed and exchanged as part of the ICAI National Students Convocation, which was earlier inaugurated by the Hon. Keshari Nath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal in the presence of dignitaries like Harshvardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group; Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, VC, Amity University, Kolkata Campus; Prof Basav Chaudhuri, West Bengal State University; Prof Saikat Maitra, VC, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology; Prof Ashutosh Ghosh, VC, University of Calcutta; CMA Manas Kumar Thakur, President, ICAI; Pradip Shett, Vice Chairman, BESC; Prof Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, BESC and Sanjay Budhia, MD, Patton Group.

BESC signs MoU with ICAI

The MoU was pre-signed by Miraj Shah, the Senior Vice Chairman of BESC. CMS Manas Kumar Thakur, the President of ICAI, signed the document which was witnessed by Prof Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs and Pradip Shett a member of the governing committee of the college.

The MoU with ICAI makes BESC the only Institute of its kind with such working arrangements with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA). A similar arrangement with the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) is also in the pipeline.

CMA Manas Kumar Thakur, the President of the Institute hailed the BESC as one of the leading colleges of the city which is helping expand the horizons of commerce, and looked forward to the MoU heralding an era of a long and mutually beneficial association which will help empower the students of both the institutions.

“BESC has a student body that is upwards of 9000, an overwhelming number of whom study commerce. About 85 percent of these students take the next logical step towards professionalism, taking up courses like CA, CS or Costing. Naturally, these tie-up’s will provide our students to move a step closer to their association with these professional bodies. On a primary level, they will help us organise joint seminars, academic programmes, exchange of faculties and facilities, apart from inviting domain experts from within their folds to share their knowledge with our students” said Prof Shah.
