Having attracted tens of thousands of visitors over three, food-themed days of family-friendly fun at the waterfront Dubai International Marine Club, the curtain came down on the second annual Dubai Food Carnival yesterday.

One of the headline events of this year’s 23-day Dubai Food Festival, the second Dubai Food Carnival offered thousands of families an astonishing range of more than 40 UAE-based restaurants and a further 40 food retail stalls, as well as a diverse line-up of entertainment acts, food competitions and a world-class cast of celebrity chefs and local culinary talent.

On a sun-drenched Saturday, the Chef’s Dome – a dedicated live cooking area for international masterchefs – hosted Simon Rimmer of ‘Sunday Brunch’ fame on the UK TV’s Channel 4; twice Michelin-starred Atul Kochhar; Silvena Rowe, the star of BBC Good Food show, Country Show Cook-Off; India’s Sanjeev Kapoor; Manal Al Alem, the ‘Queen of the Arabic kitchen’, and Fatafeat star, Tarek Ibrahim.
