The Enterprises and Alumni Job Fair 2017

July 11, 2017: On 8 July 2017, the French Institute in India (IFI), the cultural wing of the French Embassy in India, in collaboration with the Indo-French Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Business France, held the Enterprises and Alumni Job Fair 2017 as held at the Alliance Française de Bangalore.

This job fair pairs Indian professionals that formerly studied in France and with promising job opportunities in India. L’Oréal, Amaris, Gaja Digital, Faurecia, Accor Hotels, Lumiplan were among the organisations that participated in this event organised by the French Institute in India and Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Around 500 students registered to the event, providing recruiters a wide pool of talented professionals. Around 80% of recruiters said they were likely to recruit candidates from the event held on Saturday for the positions on offer.

Studying in France provides an international and multicultural edge to students, which when paired with world-class education, provides them an advantage at top-ranking and multinational companies. Job Fairs organised in various cities in India ensure that French companies all over India benefit from this talented pool of Indian professionals.

Over 400 French companies are present in India, which employ over 300,000 skilled workers. This provides immense opportunities to Indian alumni who are trained in France. These skilled professionals would be an asset to not only French but also other multinational companies.

France is the third global destination for foreign students. Over 4000 Indian students choose to study in France every year; most of them enrol for STEM courses at reputed institutions. French universities and grandes écoles offer an increasing number of courses taught in English. Campus France, a French government agency for promoting higher education and operating from 11 offices across India, guides students in their choice of courses and the procedures involved in obtaining admissions and the requisite visa.

The French government would like to welcome more Indian students to France. Indian students can extend their stay in France after the completion of their studies. France offers several visa schemes for the alumni, ranging from the 2-year visa to the 5-year circulation visa, not to forget, the Talent Passport.

The French Institute/ Institut français India (IFI) is the section of the Embassy of France responsible for promoting Indo-French people-to-people ties.
