Last night, the airline hosted an exclusive cocktail reception at Luna in the St.Regis Mumbai, together with media partner Vogue India. Prominent corporate partners and personalities from the travel trade, as well as leading names from the fashion industry, including Gaurav Gupta, Dhruv Kapoor, Elena Fernandes, Surily Goel, Malini Agarwal and Priya Tanna, Editor, Vogue India, also attended the function.

The evening, hosted by model and actress, Sarah Jane Dias, witnessed the amalgamation of fashion and travel as guests raised a toast to ‘Fashion’s Airline’, Etihad Airways.

The cocktail party started with a series of performances by some of India’s top instrumental artists such as violinist Sandeep Thakur, saxophonist Ryan Sadri, and vocalist Vasundhara Vee. Guests were invited throughout the evening to pin their dream destinations on a life-size world map hand-painted by Diaa Allam, and had their names written by the Arabic calligrapher. Finally, Etihad Airways presented two lucky guests with two Business class tickets each to their dream destination on the airline’s global network.

In April 2016, Etihad Airways struck a comprehensive global agreement with WME | IMG as a long-term partner of the fashion industry, connecting the airline with the fashion capitals of the world. Since the partnership’s introduction, the airline has helped local and international designers break boundaries, and models and brands to celebrate key milestones and reach new audiences all over the world.

Commenting on Etihad Airways’ association with the world of fashion, Yasser Al Yousuf, Etihad Airways Vice President Commercial Partnerships, said: “Etihad Airways has a strong alignment to fashion and offers Indian travellers seamless services to all the fashion capitals of the world. 2019 is special for Etihad Airways in India, as it marks our 15th anniversary of flying to the country. We are delighted to once again be an integral part of the global fashion industry and showcase our commitment to this community at Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai.”

At the five-day fashion week, Etihad Airways dedicated an activation area featuring an Instagram booth where visitors had the opportunity to become a part of the Fashion Week experience. Victoria Secret Angel, Romee Strijd, who flew Etihad to Mumbai for the event, made an appearance at the Etihad Airways area to meet and greet her fans, guests and crew.

“Fashion and Etihad Airways represent an ideal brand fit, sharing attributes of being ambitious and innovative,” said Al Yousuf. “These characteristics are showcased in our renowned service and hospitality offering and therefore making us the number one airline for fashion.”

Etihad Airways connects Mumbai and a further 9 cities across India with flights to the fashion capitals of the world – New York, London, Paris and Milan – via its Abu Dhabi gateway.
