Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC) unveils India’s first ATR 72-500 full flight simulator along with Boeing 737 NG level D, Simulator

Gurugram, 9th May 2017: As the aviation sector in India witnessed unprecedented growth, the country has become the fastest growing market for airline services. Encouraging the spirit of “Train in India “Mr. Rajiv Nayan Chaubey, Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, launched India’s first State of the art ATR 72-500 full flight simulator along with a second new Boeing 737 NG level D, simulator commissioned by FSTC, the country’s first registered standalone Approved Training Organization (ATO) approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India.

Both the flight simulators are approved by DGCA, India & EASA – European Aviation Safety Agency. Presently, the training capacity required by airlines far outnumbers the simulator capacity available in India. The induction and addition of the second B 737 NG simulator by FSTC will enhance the capacity for training pilots by 100%.

The induction of ATR 72-500 will also support the Governments Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UdeDeshkaAamNagrik (UDAN)Today, nearly 40 ATR aircraft operate in the colour of Indian carriers including giants like Air India and Jet Airways, and this number continues to grow. There is a dire demand of ATR simulators for regular and recurrent training for these airlines to keep the operations up and running. Airlines have often look towards other countries that offer required training services. This is very expensive and hampers day to day operations of the airline.

Mr. Rajiv Nayan Chaubey, Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, said: “Full-flight simulators are vital in supporting the forecasted aviation growth. I really appreciate and completely support the Train in India philosophy facilitated by FSTC by increasing their capacity. We need more pilots to be trained in India. This initiative will be helpful in Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UdeDeshkaAamNagrik (UDAN)”.

Capt Sanjay Mandavia, Managing Director& Accountable Manager FSTC, India Said –Flight Simulation Technique Centre Pvt. Ltd. (FSTC) decision to bring India’s first ATR 72-500 state of the art simulation in heart of the Gurugram where we are already providing instructor-led “wet” and “dry” training for the Airbus A320 & Boeing B737, further extends FSTC’s commitment to the aviation community in India and the region. Positioning this simulator close to Indian customers and operators’ base of operation will enable them to be more efficient while continuing to train pilots, upgrade their skills and thereby facilitate decision making that enhances safety and effectiveness. Flight Simulation Training Centre guiding philosophy is “Train in India”.

Now, airlines will be able to make substantial savings in both costs and time by sending pilots to be trained at FSTC rather than to any other part of the world. We expect airlines from across Asia and other parts of the globe to use this state of art facility in India. The benefit of bringing India’s first ATR simulator in the country is overwhelming. It’s not just about cost savings. Airlines can train their flight crew a lot quicker too as they don’t have to wait for training slots in distant training locations. Said Mr. Basraon, Director, FSTC, India.
