Global Shapers Meet in Geneva to Champion Community Development in 265 Cities Worldwide

Geneva, Switzerland, 12 August 2013 – Two years after its launch, the World Economic Forum’s Community of Global Shapers has grown to engage more than 2,500 of the world’s most promising leaders under the age of 30 who are undertaking projects to benefit their local communities in 265 cities worldwide.

Recent projects include a mentoring road show with speeches at the top universities in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China; the launch of an initiative that aims to protect underprivileged street children in Mumbai, India, by providing necessary equipment such as raincoats and umbrellas; a project in Novosibirsk, Russia, to help 10,000 future retirees become more financially aware and stable; and a business pitch competition in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
