Inchcape Shipping Services opens North Africa operations desk

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world’s leading maritime services provider, has opened a new North Africa operations desk to co-ordinate customer requirements across ports in Libya, Algeria and Morocco. Providing a new single point of contact for North Africa will deliver quick and decisive solutions to global customers using extensive local knowledge and contacts.

Based at ISS Algericas office and operating around the clock, the North Africa operations desk will be headed up by Gavin Griffin, General Manager for Gibraltar, Iberia and North Africa, supported by Operations Manager, Julian Isola, and an expert team with indepth experience of operations in often challenging situations.

Additional benefits of the new operations desk will include common operating and service level across multiple countries, onsite support for complex operations or where requirement is specified, and reduced risk of loss of prefunding payments for cancelled calls of excess payments.

Says Gavin Griffin, General Manager for Gibraltar, Iberia and North Africa: “The new operations desk will improve our customer focus and service delivery in the region. With my own port agency experience in North Africa and the indepth expertise of the entire team we can now provide an exceptional customer service.”

The North Africa operations desk will cover all markets including offshore, RoRo and container liner agency, project cargos, dry bulk ports and terminals and oil and gas ports and terminals.
