With the urgency of the pending fiscal cliff, the 2012 meeting centered on the impact of the U.S. fiscal crisis and a way forward toward solvency. Business leaders discussed at length what the business community is doing to put pressure on Congress and help bring the U.S. back from the brink of economic disaster. Leaders pointed to the negative impact on the markets, potential for a second recession, the continued climate of uncertainty, and the difficulty for job creators’ to generate jobs and grow the economy.

“This is a defining moment for America,” said BIPAC CEO Greg Casey. “We’ve come to a point where the fiscal cliff is at our doorstep and we can’t kick the can any further. It’s time for leadership, cooperation, and solutions, and we’re glad to see the business community delivering that message to Washington.”

“America is fortunate to be home to some of the world’s leading innovators,” Casey continued. “No one wants to see America thrive more than our nation’s job creators. With the future of every U.S. citizen on the line, we urge lawmakers to utilize businesses as a resource and a partner in solving our nation’s pressing fiscal concerns,” Casey concluded.
