InnoTrans 2014 showcases innovative railway infrastructure technology

 InnoTrans_LogoBerlin, 2 July 2014 – A modern railway infrastructure is the basis for efficient rail transport that extends beyond international borders. At this year’s InnoTrans the Railway Infrastructure segment, which has expanded yet again, will feature around 500 international companies who will be exhibiting their railway technology innovations on a display floor covering a gross area of 30,000 square metres. Among the products being exhibited in the six halls are signalling and control systems, rail track technology and equipment for overhead lines. Furthermore, from 23 to 26 September numerous services such as the planning and monitoring of construction services will also be shown in Berlin.

The companies featured in the Railway Infrastructure segment in Berlin are from all parts of the world, including from the USA, Brazil, China, Morocco, Australia and above all from Europe. Among them are market leaders such as Vossloh, Spitzke, Plasser & Theurer and Max Bögl. Taking as its slogan ’global expertise’ and over the course of the four-day event Vossloh Gruppe will be showcasing a wide range of its rail products and services.

Twelve companies belonging to the voestalpine concern will be presenting their entire range of products from the rail technology and infrastructure sector. “Among the highlights voestalpine Schienen GmbH will be showing are innovative heat-treated rails with outstanding product characteristics”, said Karl Ebner, managing director of voestalpine Schienen GmbH. “As the world’s market leader in railway points and related signalling technology we will also be exhibiting innovative all-in-one system solutions,“ added Thomas Stocker, managing director of voestalpine Weichensysteme GmbH.

Innovations on show at InnoTrans

Numerous innovations due to be shown in the Infrastructure segment have already been announced. Knape Gruppe, for instance, will be presenting a world debut in Berlin with its new tipping body for transporting bulk materials to and from rail track construction sites. Lankhorst Engineered Products, a company from the Netherlands, will be exhibiting its maintenance-free plastic sleepers to the international audiences at the fair. The Powerlines Group from Austria will be displaying its fibreglass overhead line mast, which makes it possible to install overhead lines at low cost without any need for insulators.
