InnoTrans continues to expand – first Conference Corner in 2016

InnoTrans_LogoBerlin, 26 May 2015 – Following last year‘s tenth anniversary edition of InnoTrans interest in the forthcoming event continues to grow. Shortly after the Early Bird deadline expired booking levels were already high and registrations now exceed the number received during the same period prior to the last event. The increasing number of bookings received from countries such as Norway, Portugal and Singapore reflects the international dimension of the fair. 18 months before it is due to open more than 80 per cent of the available floor space is already occupied. InnoTrans will take place from 20 to 23 September 2016 in Berlin.

First Conference Corner

The aim of the Conference Corner, a newly developed format, is to satisfy the growing demand for papers. Depending on room availability and starting on the last day for trade visitors, conference organisers will be able to make their own arrangements for holding lectures. Associations and transport companies in particular are invited to make use of this service.

MAGLEV 2016

At the Conference Corner MAGLEV 2016 will be taking place for the first time. The organiser and holder of the event is the International Maglevboard e.V. under the supervision of its president, Prof. Dr. habil. Johannes Klühspies. The conference will start on Friday, 23 September and is scheduled to end on Sunday, 25 September. Excursions are planned for the following Monday. Additional information on MAGLEV 2016 can be found at:

www.maglevboard.net.

Prof. Dr. habil. Johannes Klühspies, president of the International Maglevboard:

“Levitating transport systems are already beginning to dramatically change the market. In ten years’ time high-speed maglev trains will be operating between Tokyo and Osaka at speeds of over 500 kph. The track has been under construction for some time. As regards cities, architects planning high-rise buildings are already working on using maglev lifts. In Korea a maglev airport train is due to begin commercial operations in 2015. Within the industry maglev is a controversial topic because it challenges established business models and could replace them. InnoTrans is the right trade fair to debate this potentially disruptive trend among experts, specifically at the supporting MAGLEV 2016 Conference.“
