JD Institute presents advanced textile pavilion at Tex-Styles India

New Delhi, 22nd February, 2016: Visitors to a new exhibition at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi,walked beneath a shimmering; eight-foot-high advanced textile pavilion. The installation was done by the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology.

Installation

The 17th edition of global textile event Tex-Styles India is being organized by the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) .The event takes place at Hall No. 18, Pragati Maidan ,   New Delhi from Feb. 22-24, 2016.

The Chief Guest of the event was Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia,H’ble Minister, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Department of Commerce, Industry and Employment.

The most unique thing about the installation that it has been prepared by the left over fabrics that are of no use by the fashion designers. Fashion Designers who supported in this installation include the names of Nitin Kartikeya,Uttam Chhatri,Gaurav Chabra,Sonia Jetleey ,etc.

The concept behind the installation was the vivid display of fabrics of textiles depicting the reach of the requirement of advance textiles in today’s market scenario.

 

 

Mr.Rc Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion technology says,” This is a great initiative taken by the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology. The textiles industry has made a major contribution to the national economy in terms of direct and indirect employment generation. The Indian textiles industry is set for strong growth in the coming future.”

 

India has overtaken Italy, Germany and Bangladesh to emerge as the world’s second largest textile exporter, as per recent data released by ‘UN Comtrade’. India’s share in Global Textiles increased by 17.5 per cent in 2013 compared to 2012.

Tex-styles India will have exhibitors from all across the textile supply chain covering yarns to finished products. The display categories include apparel, outerwear and jackets, pants, skirts, one-piece dresses, blouses, shirts, tunics, cut and sewn garments, textile gifts, knits, shawls, yarn, fibres, threads, trimmings, embellishment and accessories.

The 3-day event is supported by major textile bodies like the Textile Committee, Ministry of Textiles, The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), Synthetic and Rayon Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), Power loom Development and Export Promotion Council, Indian Silk Export Promotion Council, and Wool and Woolen Export Promotion Council.
