McVities Kid’s Culinaire: Healthy Eating a Success

The 3rd Edition of Kid’s Culinaire was a Resounding Success

20th February 2017, New Delhi: The 3rd edition of Kid’s Culinaire – a two-day event organised by Pilcrow and sponsored by McVities – was a resounding success. It was held on the 18th and 19th of February at PSOI Garden, Nehru Park to the excitement of children and their parents/caretakers.

Kajol, the brand ambassador of McVities, attended the kid’s food fest on the 18th of February. Kajol arrived on the stage accompanied by beloved Jungle Book characters and greeted the audience.

The founders of Pilcrow Communications, Ratika van Noord Bhatnagar and Rohini Mathur were delighted with this year’s turnout. “We are so happy that Kid’s Culinaire is welcomed and enjoyed by so many children and parents. It is encouraging and inspiring to see young children enjoying themselves while cooking, eating and learning about healthy foods. They are so keen to learn at this age and we are certain that the habits they pick up today, they will carry forward into adulthood and impart to the next generation, which is exactly what we aim for. We are truly proud that our little fest has grown so much and we are pleased to announce that we will be holding Kid’s Culinaire in Mumbai this year in the month of April.”

In addition to the popular activities from previous years, Kid’s Culinaire also introduced some new activities. Celebrity Chef, Saransh Goila, was welcomed back to the festival on popular demand. Smita Srivastava, food artist and author of Fun Foods for Fussy Eaters, also attended to a great reception by children and adults.

A fun tour of the interactive display of food groups, by Altitude Store, thrilled the children where they learnt how to milk a cow in the Dairy Section and dig up vegetables in the Vegetable Section. Children also took a journey through the “Edible Routes – Food Cycle”, which started with the story of a seed, sowing it, harvesting, processing and finally composting the waste to be used again in sowing.

A new activity introduced this year “Science and Cooking”, grabed much attention of children and parents. Children were fascinated to learn and see the change in texture of food by the addtion of baking powder and other ingredents. They also better understood baking techniques for creps, pancakes and cakes. The dipping pond was another hit among the children.

McVitie’s, a well-known brand amongst the health enthusiasts across the country, has been a partner of Kids Culinaire since its inception. Now widening its consumer base to become a household brand name with its play in the taste led segments of biscuits, McVitie’s is unveiling the Jungle Book experience at Kids Culianire.
