CELEBRATING THE ART OF WRITING IN MEXICO

Montegrappa, celebrating the Art of Writing in Mexico

Reaffirming its responsibility towards the art of writing, Montegrappa was a relevant participant in the most recent international book fair – FIL (Feria Internacional del Libro). With Latin America as the guest of honor, the 30th edition of FIL took place in Guadalajara, Mexico, last December.

The largest and most important Spanish-speaking book fair in the world managed to gather over 2,000 editorial houses, 751 authors, and 800,000 visitors from 42 countries around the concept of literature with exhibitions, book presentations, conferences, screenings and other cultural activities.

As every year, a series of awards were handed to personalities, whose contributions either in the past year or along their lifetime, had enriched the Spanish language and culture through various forms of literature.

Special guests as George R.R. Martin, Mario Vargas Llosa and Rigoberta Menchu graced the literary atmosphere with their presence and magnifield the public empathy with their interaction.

This year Montegrappa had the honour to participate with several activities like calligraphy workshops, pen exhibitions, and most importantly, had the privilege to hand 8 writing instruments to the recipients of this year’s literature awards.
