image01010National 16th May, 2016:  Taskbob, a Mumbai-based home services startup run by Crenovative Ideas has been shortlisted by internet behemoth Google as one of the budding startups for its Launchpad Accelerator program at its headquarters at Silicon Valley in California in June. The platform aims to empower founders with great ideas by supporting startups through mentorship and equity-free funding.

Google Launchpad Accelerator program is a six month long mentorship program. The program will include $50,000 equity-free funding, two-week all-expenses paid bootcamp and access to Google’s full suite of Launchpad initiatives and connections and product credits including Google Cloud and other products. Google selects startups for this program based upon their potential to disrupt markets.

This year six Indian startups were shortlisted for this program. The other shortlisted start-ups from the country include Programming Hub, RedCarpet, MagicPin, ShareChat and PlaySimpleGames. These six startups will join 18 promising new companies from Brazil, Indonesia and Mexico. The two-week boot camp, starting June 13, 2016, will determine each start-up’s challenges and deploy precise mentors and try to find solutions. Google resources would also be provided to enable the products or applications of these companies to scale up.

On being shortlisted, Aseem Khare CEO, Taskbob said “It feels great to be shortlisted for Google’s prestigious Launchpad Accelerator program. It is a great platform for us to access word-class mentoring and advice to help us build scalable architectures and build a world class product. We look forward to learning a vast deal and use our experience to further develop our service”

He added, “We believe that the local services space in India is ripe for disruption using technology. While discovery of services is a solved problem, fulfillment is still largely broken. We use technology to ensure much higher levels of punctuality, reliability and quality in local services”

Taskbob provides a range of home services like home cleaning, car spa, handymen services, drivers, appliance repair, maids on demand and the recently launched, at-home beauty services in Mumbai and is one of the two Mumbai based startups that has been shortlisted for this prominent program.

About Taskbob.com

Founded in November 2014, Taskbob.com, the brainchild of four IIT B alumni, was formed to organize the fragmented hyperlocal home services market using a simple mobile app. Since its inception, the company has established a strong presence in Mumbai (ex-Navi Mumbai). Taskbob connects users to a large number of verified professional servicemen on call on its platform, and is constantly expanding its roster. Their operations team does extensive lead generation on the ground to identify and on-board qualified technicians and servicemen. The start-up has secured Rs.28 Crore (USD 4.5 million) in the Series A round of funding. The funding was led by IvyCap Ventures with participation from existing investors, Orios and Mayfield. Taskbob provides pre-screened service experts across a range of home services like cleaning, handymen services & drivers. They have recently added two more services to the bag; they now provide maids on demand & ‘at-home salon services’ under the brand-name Myrra. Another feather in the hat for Taskbob, is the acquisition of Zepper.in, a Bangalore based company which offers reliable & trustworthy home services similar to that of Taskbob. The startup is a market leader based in Mumbai and is known for providing high quality home services.
