The event was segregated into zones – literary, art and cultural, where participants were seen doing pot painting, paper modelling, quiz, writing stories, reciting, singing solo & group dancing. It was a near replication of the fests or annual events organized by the top schools.

Children from orphanages seldom get an opportunity to showcase their inherent talents in sports and art. At Nakshatra we try to maximise this by providing a suitable platform for these kids . This year in Kolkata around 100 children won medals and the Best Shelter home trophy was bagged by Calcutta Social Project . Bhumi is one of India’s largest independent youth volunteer non-profit organisations. Bhumi has two core areas of work – Education and Civic Projects and as a platform will enable over 12,000 volunteers in more than 14 cities across. For this event we sought funds from all our volunteers and different clubs and corporates across the city. Volunteers got together and raised a considerable amount from their friends & family. Buses were sponsored by Asian International School & Breakfast for kids was sponsored by Winkies. Bisleri helped us in providing enough water throughout the day. It all channelized into a remarkable success and we were able to gain 320 smiles at the end of the day.
