Prof. Uwe Wystup from Frankfurt, Germany visiting IGCC to speak on Foreign Exchange Risk Management

ahkThe Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) is organizing a lecture and interactive session titled  “Foreign Exchange Risk Management for Indian and German companies” for its members on Tuesday, 28th July 215, from 15.30 onwards at its office premises on 3 A Gurusaday Road, Kolkata 700 019.

About the topic: Trading between India and Europe or the US requires currency risk management for both importers and exporters. We explain the gravity of currency risk: not acting, and not putting a hedge in place can ruin any healthy business. We show in a few case studies how corporates can hedge themselves. Many of the hedging tools provided by banks are so-called zero-cost structures. We discuss their pros and cons, the success stories as well as the dangers that arise when hedging tools are turned into speculative instruments.
