Rashi Kapoor : Debut at Lakme Fashion Week winter/Festive 2016

Unapologetic in paying homage to the fashion of Indian Royalty inspired by the British, the collection is reminiscent of Ascot and Lords, Polo matches and Rugby, of classical music soirees and sit down dinners, of convertibles and liveried chauffeurs. Laces, Chiffons, Tissues, Benarasis, Silks, Organzas and Chanderis intricately embroidered and embellished. Rich, yet easy to wear, and versatile in the way they may be worn and teamed, for the women of today in remembrance of those decadent fashion days, with a whiff of Chanel on white linen.

About Designer Rashi Kapoor

Rashi Kapoor, took her first formal steps into fashion ‘designing’ when post her graduation from Kolkata, she enrolled in a foundation course in Art & Design in London College of Fashion. This was followed by a degree course in Surface Texturing for women’s wear. Her eponymous label was finally launched in 2011. Her sense of embroidered texturing is acclaimed as being lavish and hip, but with an edge of prudishness very reminiscent of the Victorian era and has helped to establish her in the discerning niche segment of the well dressed. Her USP has been the painstaking attention given to detail and the impeccable fit and finish of the garments. In lines with the brand’s design sensibilities, Rashi brings with her lavishly embroidered bridal wear for the wedding as well as trousseau. This includes lehengas, sarees, kurtas and peplums with shararas and skirts, kalidars, long jackets etc constructed using textiles like Silks, tissue, mulmul, Bengal handloom and traditional Indian clothing embellishment elements like khari print, gota, zardoze and resham embroidery, cut dana and moti
