Switzerland, Baselworld, March 18th 2016 – Ronda, an independent, family-owned business and a specialist in quartz supplying millions of movements each year to well-known Swiss and international brands, today presented, at Baselworld, its first automatic movement after an almost thirty-year hiatus. Over four years, the Swiss manufacturer deployed plenty of energy to design and develop its R150 calibre. This new 11½’’’ calibre is a three-hands with date and has a 40-hour power reserve. Ronda thus makes a remarkable return to mechanical movement-making for its 70th anniversary. The movement, part of the “Mecano” range, is scheduled for launch at end 2016.
