Kolkata, 19th November 2016; Eastern India’s largest electrical expo for power and electrical sector “E3” opened today at Milan Mela Ground, Kolkata. The expo was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge of Dept. of Power & Non-Conventional Energy Sources, West Bengal Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay in esteemed presence of Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President, FBCCI, Bangladesh & Dr. Rajesh Pandey, CMD WBSETCL  and DCL along with eminent dignitaries from Power and electrical sector across the nation.

During the inauguration, Shree Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge of Dept. of Power & Non-Conventional Energy Sources, West Bengal said – “I am glad to know that IEEMA – Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association is organizing E3, a three day exposition from 18th – 20th November, 2016 in Kolkata, the Cultural Capital and womb of Modern India is the right place to host such events. Present day Bengal, with its abundant talent pool and conducive environment for conducting business will encourage this sort of forward looking events. I wish every success to this event.”

Mr Chattopadhyay further added, “Six years back west Bengal was facing severe load shading but now the situation has changed drastically. Now we are providing 24*7 powers to all. In the power sector we have even expanded to Bangladesh and ready to expand further. We urge all manufacturers to invest in West Bengal. There is a huge opportunity for the manufacturers of power sector.

E3 – Energize Empower East, a biennial platform expects to attract over large number of footfalls in terms of buyers, sellers, solution providers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and general public. The expo features multiple unique discussion sessions and Innovation Lecture Series on Sustainable Energy, International Marketing in Power Sector, Innovation, and Leadership, to be held every day from 18th November till 20th November 2016.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President, FBCCI, Bangladesh, said, “Thanks for transforming the city as an international centre for business. Bangladesh targets for 20000 MW power in next two years with the help of Govt of India. With the help of IEEMA we will look for new opportunity in the power sector. This will be initiated during Bangladesh PM’s next visit to India”.
