image0011The inaugural Innovation 20 Summit (I-20) will be held at a Brisbane CBD location this Friday the 14th of November 2014, and promises an outstanding line-up of international innovation experts.

The forum, facilitated and hosted by Life Sciences Queensland Limited (LSQ), will provide a platform for international innovation leaders to discuss innovation strategies at this critical stage of global economic recovery; bringing together a cross section of representatives from G20 nations including policy makers, prominent entrepreneurs, executives, scientists,  inventors, venture capitalists, journalists, investors, and thought leaders – including representatives from Canada, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Russia, the UK and the US.
LSQ CEO Mr Mario Pennisi said the stimulus for the event was the role of innovation as a key driver of economic development, and indicated support for the venture from the Australian Prime Minister the Hon. Tony Abbott MP.
“Innovation is widely recognised as a promoter of economic development and it is critical to achieving the 1.8% growth target set by the G20,” Mr Pennisi said.
“The leading nations around the world are establishing innovation systems to become more competitive, expanding support for science and technology and improving their education, entrepreneurial and talent-development systems.

“Australia will be well served by engaging with others to promote innovation as a driver of
economic development; and we are pleased to know that the Hon. Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia has expressed his support for I-20; and will provide the welcoming message on Friday.”
Parliamentary Secretary Bob Baldwin MP will provide the opening remarks and speakers at the event will include Dr Rami Niazy, Dr Arvind Lali, Jack A. Bobo, Johnathan Kua, Oleg Preksin, Holly Ransom, Jim Greenwood, David Miles and Mark Sowerby, among others.
Mr Pennisi urged those who value and recognise the role that innovation plays to ensure they have a representative of their organisation in attendance.
“Registration is open for I-20, and I urge all innovation advocates to register on the event website now – www.i-20.com.au or contact registrations@i-20.com.au if they are LSQ Members.”
Further details about the event, and venue, will be advised upon completion of registration.
