Sufi Sutra is just a few days away, all teams are arriving at Kolkata on Jan 30.
Jan 31 onwards the mega music festival SUFI SUTRA starts at Mohar Kunj, daytime is workshop, photography & media interaction time, evening is concert time. 9 teams including 6 Int’l teams – El Bola (Flamenco) from Spain, Mu from Portugal, Arnob & friends from Bangladesh, Radiant Arcadia from Denmark, Win Bang from Iran, Barkbröder Extended from Sweden. National teams are from Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal. Its an acoustic music festival.
3 teams perform everyday in the evening (6-9 pm) and 2 International teams are present at workshop (11 am to 2 pm) every day. Sufi Sutra is all about Sufi and Traditional music, promotes plurality in culture, showcases world music, practices “Music for all, Music for Peace“. There is no ticket, card, pass, all are welcome.
We have invited over 100 rural musicians & handicraft artists to be at SUFI SUTRA to interact with global musicians and urban audience. This is a very special year for us, SUFI SUTRA is travelling to Patna – Feb 7-9 and then to Delhi Feb 10-11. SUFI SUTRA 2014, KOLKATA : JAN 3!-Feb 2, MOHAR KUNJ.
