Kolkata, 23rdApril, 2016: Sumona unveiled its Spring/Summer Bridal 2016 collection at their Flagship store in the city. This new range of Bridals focused mainly on light unfussy lehengas in the colour palette varying from a wide range of colours like banana yellow, apple green, baby pink and shades of peach. The eventful Saturday evening was hosted by a well known socialite of the city, Sana H Singh, witnessed the top models of the city flaunting the designer’s latest collection along with the crème de la crème of the town. The event was also attended by, the very talented, Paoli Dam, who was the centre of attraction for all.
On this auspicious occasion, Designer Sumona Parekh, described the collection, “The Spring Summer Bridal 2016” collection envisions a season of pastel colours and light weight celebratory attire which aims to give every bride a choice. The aim is to make every bride feel as formal or as casual on her big day as she wants to be. Young and older women, family and friends -are evolving in their mindset and attitude as we speak and dress codes are changing along with them”
About the Collection
The Summer Bridal range of collection mainly focuses on light unfussy lehengas, which are light in weight and easy to manage with a very cool and breezy look and feel to it. The fabrics used were majorly georgette, chanderi, net and chiffon. The silhouettes of the collection include Bridal Chanderi lehengas, Georgette soft lehenga’s embellished with impeccable zardozi work depicting the Royal Bengal Gharana Chandbali motifs, Georgette kalli-cut and bias-cut lehengas, Kaildars with panels, Layered long kurtis with churidars to short layered kurtis with dhotis. The collection also showcases a varied range of India’s hand worked Lucknowi embroidery and the technique of kirigami appliqué work of cut-and-paste which enhances the summer bridal look in elegant and subtle ways.
About the Event:
The evening was full of glitz and glamour, with Paoli Dam, a very well known Tollywood actress looking stunning in the designer’s outfit. Another special attraction was the top city models Sonika Chauhan, Rukmini Mitra and Saachi Bhasin dressed beautifully in the designer’s outfits. Sana H Singh, the host of the evening warmly attended each one of the guest and made sure they were comfortable. The beautiful collection was admired by the top nosh crowd of the city who were present to grace the occasion. Along with the unveiling of the Summer Bridal range, the designer introduced to the guests her brand website, which was also acknowledged by all.
