NEW YORK – Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent center for research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance, as one of the 2014 World’s Most Ethical Companies®.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Thomson Reuters has been named to the list, which recognizes companies for ethical and principled business practices that positively impact performance and raise the profile for ethical standards in global business and the community as a whole.

“This recognition reflects our ongoing efforts to promote the highest standards of ethics in our business practices,” said Carla Jones, senior vice president, Office to the CEO at Thomson Reuters and head of its corporate responsibility program. “Our customers trust us for the decisions that matter most, and we feel that as a company we are called upon to hold ourselves to the highest possible standard in supporting their work, and in representing our business. We are proud to receive this award along with all of the other deserving companies honored this year.”

This year’s World’s Most Ethical Companies list was announced in conjunction with the sixth annual Global Ethics Summit, which took place March 20-21, 2014, in New York. The event, hosted by the Ethisphere Institute and Thomson Reuters, was attended by corporate executives, compliance officers and legal professionals, and featured keynotes and panel discussions addressing key issues and trends in governance, anti-corruption, ethics and reputation.

This is the eighth year Ethisphere has published the World’s Most Ethical Companies list, selected through in-depth research and a multi-step analysis. The methodology to determine the scores of the World’s Most Ethical Companies is derived from five key categories: ethics and compliance program; reputation, leadership and innovation; governance; corporate citizenship and responsibility; and culture of ethics.
