Bangalore, 25th June, 2018: TUV Rheinland India, a subsidiary of the TUV Rheinland Group, Germany, a worldwide leader that inspects technical equipments, products and services, oversees projects, and helps to shape processes and information security for companies; announced that its Gurgaon testing lab at location 417 has been recognised by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) to conduct testing of Electronics and IT products.

As per the BIS Compulsory Registration Scheme, no person shall manufacture or store for sale, import, or distribute goods which do not conform to the Indian Standards specified in the order. BIS initially started with 15 categories of electronic items in 2012.  Another 15 product categories were added in 2014. Subsequently 13 more product categories were also added in 2017.
