Winners to be revealed October 8 in Boston, MA, USA
Bedford, MA, August 20, 2014 (Press Release) –RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, today announced the list of 2014 PPI Awards finalists.
The 2014 PPI Awards program honors leadership, vision, innovation and strategic accomplishments within the pulp and paper industry. The Awards are the only global honors dedicated to recognizing the achievements of companies, mills and individuals in the pulp and paper sector.
With over 160 entries for 14 categories, 2014 was a great year for entries- demonstrating the innovative nature of the industry and the enthusiasm of the teams and individuals who work in the pulp and paper sector.
Mark Rushton, editor of Pulp & Paper International, says, “The PPI Awards have very clearly come of age and the competition is now seen by pulp and paper producers globally as a fantastic event to be associated with. Yet again this year the standard of entries overall has been very impressive and judging has been difficult because of the high quality seen this year. Thanks to all the judges for their hard work on the numerous entries.”
Winners will be announced at the PPI Awards ceremony, held during the RISI’s Twenty-Ninth Annual North American Forest Products Conference on October 8 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Seaport Hotel. Some of the judges this year include: Linda Pham Chau, Director of Packaging Procurement and Engineering, Hewlett-Packard; Marco Mensink, Director General, Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI); John Pollard, Packaging Supply Technology Manager, Unilever; Jacqui Macalister, Senior Manager, Sustainable Supply, McDonald’s; and Rod Young, Chief Economic Advisor, RISI.
