Kolkata, November 25, 2015: JIS University organised ‘SKillX Autumn 2015’, – an exhibition that showcased different projects designed and devised by 100 of the university’s graduate and post-graduate students of 73 projects such naming few Diabetic Chocolates, Touch switch, Wine preparation from orange, Automatic light system and present among others – at its Agarpara campus. This exhibition was a first of its kind industry-academia initiative undertaken by JIS University in association with The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industries and TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) with an aim to seamlessly combine hands-on training and skill development with theoretical academic curricula in the areas of science and technology, management, and juridical sciences and also to further take this knowledge to the industry.
Mr. Taranjit Singh, Chancellor of JIS University and MD of JIS Group, said,” Today through organizing this exclusive yet innovative exhibition at our JIS University campus, we aim to make sure that the projects showcased are not only course-related but also have futuristic industry useful insights. All these projects have a hint of entrepreneurial zeal to it and thus today we have invited industry- academia experts to share their views on the projects as well as enlighten our University students on way forward.”
In this event, Mr. Subhodip Ghosh (Director General Designate, The Bengal Chamber) and Mr. S Radhakrishnan (Vice-President/President Elect and Charter Member, TiE Kolkata ) were present on the occassion.
