Kolkata, May 18, 2016: Post an overwhelming response from the students for the last two years the Association of Minority Professional Academic Institutes, – a registered body under WB Society Registration Act 1961 – popularly known as ‘AMPAI’, today announced that Common Entrance Examination “CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB” will be conducted for the 3rd consecutive year on June 5, 2016. This offline examination will be conducted for admission to 4 years B.Tech and B.Pharm courses as per government order issued by Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal vide order no 305-EDN(T)/10M-13/15. The press conference was addressed by Sardar Sohan Singh, Secretary – AMPAI, Sardar Taranjit Singh – President APAI and MD – JIS Group, Sardar B.S. Saral – eminent journalist and Mr. Bidyut Majumder – Convenor: CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB.
Commenting on the occasion, Sardar Sohan Singh, Secretary – AMPAI said, “Since its inception in 2010, the aim of AMPAI has been facilitating higher education opportunities in the field of engineering and healthcare to meritorious students across the country. We have observed a 100% increase in the number of examinees in the last two years and this year we expect more than 5000 students to appear for the common entrance examination owing to its transparency in competitive examination and evaluation process. I wish best of luck to all candidates undertaking this examination.”
The common entrance examination presents yet another excellent opportunity to the students aspiring for B.Tech and B.Pharm courses to secure admission in the top ranking engineering colleges of West Bengal. This year CEE-AMPAI examination will be held at 18 centres spread across the length and breadth of the country namely, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
This examination though is conducted by a minority organization, doesn’t put limitation on applications. Anyone – not necessarily only from the Sikh minority community – who fulfils the eligibility criteria specified in the information brochure of CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB , can appear for CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB as vacant seats will be open to candidates from other minority and non-minority categories. Mr. Bidyut Majumder, Convenor, CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB, shedding more light on the examination said, “The CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB examination is equivalent to WBJEE. It gives the students who are aspiring to be tomorrow’s engineers and healthcare professionals an edge over others since there is no negative marking in this examination and moreover they get a change to take admission in the top ranked engineering college of West Bengal. Further commenting on the eligibility criteria he said, “Candidates who have Physics and maths as compulsory subjects and either of Chemistry, Biology and biotechnology are eligible to appear for CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB examination.”
All eligible candidates can apply either Online through the website or, Offline – by downloading a printable copy of the Application Form from the website www.ampai.in. Application Fee is Rs.200/ only. Online applicants can pay during online form fill-up, whereas offline applicants need to make a DD of Rs.200/- in favour of AMPAI, payable at Kolkata. Syllabus of the examination is as per WBJEE 2016. The association has made online application available till: 2nd June 2016 and Offline Application available till: 31st May 2016.
The Common Entrance Examination will allow students to get admitted in various streams under B.Tech and B.Pharm under the aegis of JIS Group Educational Initiatives.The following colleges shall be admitting students under CEE-AMPAI-2016-WB in the B.Tech and B.Pharm courses:
