(Munich, June 12, 2013) KraussMaffei now also offers the GX series for multicomponent technology with the GX SpinForm encompassing a swivel-plate design and is significantly expanding the field of application as a result. At the K 2013 trade show in Düsseldorf, a GX 550 SpinForm will produce components made from thermoplastic and polyurethane with a premium-quality lacquer surface in the next generation of multicomponent technology (October 16-23, Hall 15, B27/C24/C27/D24).

Varied basis for modern multicomponent technology
SpinForm swivel-plate machines from KraussMaffei are ideally suited to manufacturing multicomponent parts and are in high demand on the market. In Düsseldorf, visitors to the K 2013 will see live demonstrations of a GXW 550-2000/380 SpinForm. “Thanks to the SpinForm variant, processors can now benefit from the GX’s advantages in multicomponent technology too,” explains Frank Peters, Vice President Sales at KraussMaffei. “Short cycle times and minimal energy consumption, also by using electric splitter and hand axes.” Together with the BluePower servo pump drive, the GX is setting new standards for energy-saving multicomponent machines. Above all, SpinForm machines are impressive at medium and large clamping forces and as key components in automatic production cells for manufacturing complex multicomponent parts. Processors benefit from higher component quality and simpler logistics.
Pre-installed robot platform quickly ready to start production
The parts are removed by an IR 60 R2030 F/K industrial robot, which then continues with the subsequent process steps. The robot and all other automation components, including the safety housing, are installed on a transportable robot platform that is directly installed, adjusted and put into operation by KraussMaffei. The robot platform is then directly supplied to the customer as a production-ready cell on the machine. It only has to be docked to the machine and is then ready to use straightaway. Processors benefit from simple assembly and quick and easy commissioning. They also save costs and can start their production earlier. The robot platform also offers greater flexibility with changing production tasks if the robot is needed on another machine at a later stage. It is sufficient to move the robot platform on a forklift to another machine. Since all positions are firmly anchored to one another, the automation cell only requires a short restart time and can recommence production almost immediately.
SpinForm – ideal for the next generation of multicomponent technology
Premium-quality surfaces for plastic components are increasingly demanded from one production cell. Thanks to the SkinForm and ColorForm Technologie³ processes, KraussMaffei is assuming a pioneering role. The technological leader is presenting the ColorForm process with new machine and system technology to trade visitors at the K 2013. Both process-optimization aspects and process-reliability requirements have been systematically incorporated into this process. Included is, amongst other things, a new RimStar Nano 4/4 ColorForm mixing and metering machine for polyurethane for lacquer applications. The space-saving design needs an installation area that is approximately 30 percent smaller than conventional machines, and is significantly more production- and user-friendly. A lacquer system is being processed which has already successfully passed crucial tests for use in the automotive sector.
