Outotec has received orders from ETI Alüminyum A.S. a division of Turkish CENGIZ Holding, to deliver green anode plant and rodding shop technology worth approximately EUR 15 million. The order has been booked in Outotec’s third quarter order intake. ETI Alüminyum plans to convert its current primary aluminum smelter located at Seydisehir (Konya) in Turkey from Soederberg technology to pre-baked anode technology.
ETI Alüminyum has one of the world’s rare integrated facilities capable of producing aluminum from the bauxite ore to refined metal. Outotec will be providing technology, engineering, equipment supply and site supervision services for a green anode plant along with a crushing plant for recycled carbon materials. Both plant sections will be integrated into the existing Anode Plant building. In addition, the two companies also agreed that Outotec will deliver the key process equipment for the anode rodding shop and bath removal facility.
The reconstructed aluminum smelter is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2014.
“Our customers are increasingly emphasizing technologies which are operationally efficient and as clean as possible. Therefore also ETI Alüminyum decided to modernize its smelter with sustainable Outotec technology,” states Peter Weber, head of Outotec’s EMEA region.
