Following the cabinet reshuffle on Sunday 28th October , the new Minister for Power , Sh Jyotiraditya Scindia took charge of his new assignment at 9 am today. He brings with him a rich experience from his previous role as Minister of State for Commerce and Industry. Speaking to mediapersons, he said that illustrious individuals have held the responsibility of Ministry of Power earlier and so this makes his task a challenge . He was thankful that the Congress party, especially Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhil had shown great confidence in him . He promised to do his best and try to live up to the expectations.
Aware of the fuel shortage , he said he would try and sort out issues between Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Power amicably.When asked about the power condition in Madhya Pradesh , he replied that Madhya Pradesh was his home state and therefore important, but he would give equal attention to the entire country in his capacity as Union Minister for Power.
On the issue of priorities, he said that he would give an informed opinion only after he made a personal assessment of the Ministry and the entire gamut of work ahead of him.
