Co-designed by Thomson Reuters and IICA, these programs will be sector specific and will cover range of topics including corporate governance, board effectiveness and industry trends, opportunities and risk.
With this alliance, Thomson Reuters and IICA are planning the first orientation program for the Pharma sector. The format of the orientation program will be through keynote class sessions, case studies as well as interactive panel discussions and will be delivered by eminent leaders from the industry and subject matter experts.
“The issue of corporate governance has become more complex in recent years owing to the increase in regulation both in India and around the world, tighter compliance requirements and greater concerns around risk and transparency,” said Swarup Choudhury, managing director, Thomson Reuters India. “With the new companies law, there’s greater thrust on improving governance by making firms more accountable. Therefore, board members need to understand more fully the implications of their board responsibilities and individual accountability. In a constantly shifting regulatory environment, we are excited to be collaborating with IICA to help enable board members to better perform their corporate governance roles.”
“This alliance with Thomson Reuters will help board directors become more knowledgeable, effective and understand their roles more clearly,” said Dr. Bhasker Chaterjee, director general & chief executive officer of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. “We look forward to jointly conducting a series of corporate governance events to make businesses and corporations more aware of this critical aspect.”
