High import activity of food products positions KSA as an ideal hub for key player in food trade and agro sector
Riyadh: August 26, 2014: Due to the increase in food products imports to cater to its growing population, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has emerged as an ideal investment hub for the key local and international players in food trade and agriculture sectors. Saudi Arabia imports almost 70 per cent of its food requirements, which accounts for only 26 per cent of total consumer expenditure. On another hand, the Kingdom’s large and increasing youth population is a major factor that boosts demand level on imported high-value packaged and processed food products.
Saudi Agro-Food 2014, the 21st international trade show for food products, ingredients and technologies, offers a dedicated event for the food processing and packaging industry. Running from September 7 to 10, 2014 at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center, the exhibition is set to gather local, regional and international companies dealing in food trade and agriculture to showcase their technology, products and services, network with business leaders from the industry, and facilitate partnerships for new business deals.
The four-day event will feature exhibits focusing on state-of-the-art products, technologies and services, including frozen and chilled foods, confectionery and chocolates, healthy and natural foods, presentation, processing and packaging equipments. The show will be held concurrently with Saudi Agriculture 2014 – the 33rd international agriculture, water and agro-trade industry show, and Saudi Food-Pack 2014 – the 4th international trade exhibition for food processing and packaging technologies.
Saudi Agro-Food 2014 is approved by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. The last year’s edition recorded a footfall of over 8,000 professional visitors and 173 exhibitors from 24 countries across 5,000 square meters of exhibition space.
