Survey reveals that Arab women continue to prefer using hair oil to achievehair oil
Dubai, UAE, May 28, 2015 – Experts warn that the current popularity of oil-replacement products as the next-best thing for hair is a marketing strategy by some beauty and hair companies to sell their latest products. A recent study has revealed that oil-replacement products contain more than 70 per cent water and do not offer any health benefits to hair. They can, at best, be used as styling agents but cannot substitute for nourishing hair oil treatment.
The study further stated that women in Middle East have placed their trust and confidence in hair oil treatment as a pre- and post-shampoo nourishing tonic over various other oil-replacement products available in the region. Hair oil currently available in market are non-greasy, non-sticky and do not have a strong odor normally associated with traditional oils. Moreover, they are easy to apply and wash off and continue to remain an integral part of Arab women’s regular hair care regimen.
The wide preference for hair oil over oil-replacement products in the Middle East can be attributed to the many benefits derived from its regular use. The natural ingredients used to formulate oil offer complete nourishment to hair for healthy, long and strong hair. Oil-replacements, on the other hand, has not been scientifically proven to support hair growth. They are not suitable as a substitute for hair oil as they simply provide a film or coat to hair and do not penetrate deep into the scalp and do not provide root nourishment. Hair oil, when massaged thoroughly on the head and hair, permeates into the scalp, stimulating blood circulation which not only promotes healthy hair growth but also prevents hair loss.
Vivek Dhir, Chief Marketing Officer, Dabur International, said: “Dabur’s Hair Oil range remains a preferred choice of Arab women over oil-replacement products. After an interview of number of women in the Middle East, we have found that they profess to effectiveness of our hair oils as a nourishing hair tonic to treat common hair problems such as hair fall, dry scalp, split ends among others. While the hair care market is proliferated with an assortment of new oil-replacement products, in reality they do not provide any specific hair care benefits or nourishment to hair and are nothing more than hair styling agents. There is no substitute for a good hair oil massage and we recommend regular use of hair oil as pre-shampoo nourishment for thick, long, strong and healthy hair. Dabur Amla and Vatika Naturals our leading hair care brands will continue to enrich their hair oil range fortified with the goodness of natural ingredients, reflecting its commitment and promise to offer natural hair care products.”
Hair oil offers many nourishing benefits for the scalp and hair. A regular hair oil massage before shampoo conditions the scalp and hair roots and shafts to provide strength to the hair from the roots to tips, eliminates common hair problems, reduces breakage and fall, and promotes healthy hair growth.
