Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four 2016: CSKA Moscow won the trophy in Berlin.

During the final of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague basketball CSKA Moscow came out on top against Fenerbahçe Istanbul with 96:101.

The top four European basketball teams met at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Basketball Final Four in Berlin. During the semifinal this year’s favorite team CSKA Moscow competed against their compatriots BC Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar from Russia. Fans from all over the world witnessed a thrilling basketball game at the Mercedes Benz Arena that ended with 88-81 in favor of CSKA Moscow. Moscow’s strongest opponent Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz arriving from Spain lined up in the second game of the evening. In the top-level half final fixture Fenerbahçe Istanbul secured their well-deserved entry to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague final on Sunday with a score of 88-77.

Already in 2009, the final tournament of the most important association title of Europe was hosted in Berlin. Since 2010 Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries and international destinations than any other airline is the official title sponsor of the closed league. Now the airline brought the final tournament back to the German capital.  The final round of the competition was broadcast in almost 200 countries across the world. Around 12,500 spectators came to the sold out Mercedes Benz Arena to cheer for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and CSKA Moscow.  In the end the winner was CSKA Moscow from Russia. The players of head coach Dimitris Itoudis crowned themselves with the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Trophy 2016 with 96:101.
