As the Official Airline Partner to UEFA EURO 2016 TM, Turkish Airlines announced the full details of its ‘Meet Europe’s Best’ campaign today, championing fans and European cultures ahead of this summer’s competition. The campaign includes the launch of television commercials, unique plane liveries, ticket giveaways and a dedicated microsite. Celebrations will continue during the tournament with select Turkish Airlines planes showing live matches, activation zones in four host cities and branding across notable sites across Paris.
As Europe’s best airline for five consecutive years*, and the carrier that flies to the most international destinations and also countries, Turkish Airlines takes an active interest in Europe’s sporting and cultural events. This is reflected in the ‘Meet Europe’s Best’ campaign, which will spotlight the very best fans from around the continent; those that go above and beyond to show their love and passion for their national team.
The campaign centres around the specially created MeetEuropesBest.com microsite. The microsite will aggregate user generated social media content around the hashtag #EuropesBest. Fans will be encouraged to showcase the unique and diverse ways in which they support their team using the hashtag for a chance to win flights, accomodation and tickets for themselves and a friend to a UEFA EURO 2016 TM match.
To generate more excitement, Turkish Airlines has teamed up with Hollywood music video director Grady Hall, to film seven adverts spotlighting the competition. Under the banner of ‘Meet Europe’s Best’, the clips showcase the world of professional footballers merged with the unique passenger experience offered by Turkish Airlines.
Turkish Airlines Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Ahmet Olmuştur, said: “The Meet Europe’s Best campaign is a celebration of UEFA EURO 2016 TM and of the fans that will be at the heart of the tournament. From our microsite and television adverts, to our special livery and ticket giveaways, Turkish Airlines wants to give football supporters the opportunity to celebrate with other fans from across Europe.”
As a tease to fans on the ground, the airline recently launched a special a UEFA EURO 2016 TM designed livery on one of its A330-300 passenger jets. Reinforcing Turkish Airlines’ global presence, the plane has already reached football lovers in cities across the US, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The Meet Europe’s Best campaign was developed to reflect both the tournament’s position as the pre-eminent international football competition on the continent, as well as Turkish Airlines’ success as Europe’s best airline*.
