Canon India joins hand with Yokohama to support the endeavor of Swachh Bharat Campaign
June 20, 2016: Committed to the cause of environmental sustainability, Canon India, the leader in digital imaging, collaborated with Japanese conglomerate, Yokohama Tyres to organize ‘Cleanliness Drive’ near their office in Gurgaon, under its CSR ambit. Organized at DLF Epitome, the cleanliness drive comes as a humble endeavor by the two organizations to contribute towards the Government of India’s initiative, ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
Realizing the significance of such campaigns, more than 50 participants from both the organizations came out in support to prevent the growing strain on planet Earth’s natural systems. This activity, organized in the month that celebrates World Environment Day on June 5th, was a meaningful effort to contribute towards building a cleaner India. Volunteers from both the organizations stepped forward vigorously and collaborated for the noble cause. Their determination also proved to be a great source of motivation for the on-lookers.
Environment is a core element of Canon’s ‘4Es’ policy of CSR, which focuses on Environment, Education, Eye Care and Empowerment. Canon India has always been at the forefront of driving various sustainability initiatives aimed at conserving the environment and thereby, building awareness to facilitate a greener tomorrow.
Over the years, Canon has been making focused efforts to preserve environment by encouraging its employees to participate in various ‘Go Green’ drives. In this context, last year, Canon employees also volunteered to plant 150 saplings at the Aravali Bio-Diversity Park, Gurgaon as a step towards its continuous efforts to bring eco-friendly and sustainable changes in the community.
