An ICICI Bank spokesperson said, “We assure our customers that the ATM network of ICICI Bank is equipped with the best-in-class security measures. We would like to inform that the possible breach of information of debit cards has taken place in the ATM network of another bank. As a precautionary measure, the PINs of debit cards used at the ATMs of that bank have been changed. This has been done in order to protect our customers from any potential fraudulent transaction.
Further, we are using our real-time fraud monitoring systems to identify and proactively stop any misuse of the cards which may have been impacted by the alleged breach in that bank. We also urge our customers as part of our ‘Safe Banking’ communication to change their PIN periodically to prevent any misuse.”
