Noida, November 5th, 2016: Shri. M Hamid Ansari, Hon’ble Vice President of India today inaugurated the new headquarters of The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) in NOIDA. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Sector 126, NOIDA office in the presence of Shri. Yasar Shah, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Stamp and Registration (Trade Tax), Government of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. R Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM, Mr. CP Gurnani, Chairman, NASSCOM, Mr. Raman Roy, Vice-Chairman, NASSCOM along with other industry leaders and government representatives.
The campus has been designed in order to accommodate all the NASSCOM verticals including DSCI, SSC NASSCOM, and NASSCOM Foundation. NASSCOM also aims to host and felicitate international delegations of the IT-ITeS industry at the campus. The premises will additionally house a NASSCOM 10,000 start-ups warehouse, providing budding entrepreneurs a micro-ecosystem where they can work together, share their knowledge and best practices with each other. Further, the campus has state of the art amenities for employees, including an in-house gym and library. To ensure minimum carbon foot-print the office is equipped with smart motion detection lights, and also utilizes maximum natural light to help save energy.
Shri. M Hamid Ansari, Hon’ble Vice President of India, said, “I am happy to be here today to inaugurate the new NASSCOM office. It is good to see this new office for the industry body of the IT and software sector come up in Noida, which is one of the fastest growing IT hubs today. Going forward NASSCOM should continue to help build India as an innovation hub, fostering next gen start-ups so we have the next bellwethers of the IT coming out of the country. NASSCOM needs to empower the 1 billion Indians who are at the threshold of a digital revolution and work with the government and the industry on a continued basis to achieve this”.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. R Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM, said, “We thank Shri. M. Hamid Ansari and other industry leaders for gracing us with their presence today and being a part of this momentous day when we begin the next chapter in the NASSCOM story. Since its inception, NASSCOM has been situated in New Delhi, we decided to shift to NOIDA as it gave us the opportunity to set-up a bigger-integrated office. We would also like to thank the state government and affiliated authorities for their support and encouragement to make this facility a reality”.
In 2013, NASSCOM had announced its plans to shift its headquarters to NOIDA, post which the construction had commenced, taking a total of 3 years to complete. The foundation stone of NASSCOM’s Noida Headquarters was unveiled by Shri Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, Mr. KK Natarajan, Ex-Chairman, NASSCOM and Mr. Som Mittal, Ex-President, NASSCOM in September 2013.
