Suncity girl paints her way to success

Gurgaon: It was a dream comes true for this Class-VIII student and her school! Paridhi Gupta of Suncity World School has won the Annual Calendar Art Competition recently, organized by the High Commission of Canada, with the theme ‘diversity’.

Paridhi’s painting – a beautiful melange of all things diverse and one of the top twelve entries from among hundreds of entries received from all over India – would be printed on the 2017 calendar of the High Commission of Canada. Her achievement is laudable as she is the youngest contestant to win this honour, among hundreds of entries from all across India and shortlisted by the panel of judges for the High Commission’s Annual Art Competition.

 “Diversity is all around us, be it in plants, religions or even the flags of the world. And, I tried to portray in my painting,” she said.

Incidentally, Paridhi is the only girl from Gurgaon, who had got this honor.

Paridhi is a resident of Nirvana Country, Gurgaon with her roots from village Kasana near IMT Manesar. Born and brought up in Gurgaon Paridhi is living here with her parents Amit Lohia Gupta who is a businessman her mother Radhika Gupta along with two siblings Pihu and Param who are study in Suncity World School.

The competition was a 2 months long process where children from all over India participate out of thousands of entries the best 20 of them were selected which were put up on the social media accounts of the Canada High Commission. A voting was announced on the respective platforms and 12 best paintings were selected which had the maximum number of likes.

This is a National level competition which takes place every year and after a gap of 3 years painting of a Gurgaon’s student has been selected to be a part of their official calendar.
