It is no coincidence that the entire top management of Fujitsu General were present in Hyderabad to chalk out plans to capture a bigger share of the Indian Market. Addressing the media, Mr. M .Ejazuddin, CEO & Director, EGPL, informed the gathering that their premium brand “General”, is not only rugged but also classy. This Air Conditioner is designed to perform in extreme conditions like in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana with high durability & longevity. General is the only super premium brand in the market and commands a market share of 4%. Our turnover for the last fiscal was rupees Rs 1500 cr and we have a growth rate of 20 – 25 % per annum. He added, “Keeping in mind the growth potential in the Indian market, EGPL, the Indian arm of Fujitsu General has planned for structural changes and investments in manufacturing facilities in India. This will help the brand to be more competitive and also develop India specific models. We would like to increase the market share to over 5% in next 2 years”. Currently the company has a network of 2500 dealers and 350 service franchises.”
The company also launched a slew of 26 new models of AC’s, 4 of which are WACs, 7 Split ACs, 12 Inverter Split ACs and 3 Cassette ACs. All of them adopt new eco-friendly refrigerants and confirm to new energy regulations as per lSEER. Out of 26 models, 14 models are tropically designed to perform even at 52 Degree Celsius and 5 models are suited for abnormal voltages between 155 Volts ~ 265 Volts. Also technologies like human sensors in Inverter Split ACs have been introduced. The price range of these Air conditioners vary from Rs.25, 200/~ to Rs.152, 250/-.
Mr. Etsuro Saito, President, Fujitsu General Ltd, Japan said they are looking at India in a big way, because of the tremendous potential it holds.
