This was mainly attributable to increased demand for domestic flights, growth of in-country tourism combined with a corresponding 14.1% year-on-year increase in ASKs for the Group and 15.5% increase for the Company. The rise in ASKs was due in part to increased flight frequencies on high-demand routes.

International traffic increased despite the suspension of flights to destinations in Ukraine and Egypt and the suspension of charter flights to Turkey. International traffic growth was supported by a continued decline in competition as several foreign carriers had reduced flight frequencies to Russia, Aeroflot airline’s higher transit traffic through its Sheremetyevo hub and Transaero’s exit from the marketwhich triggered a reallocation of traffic and routes amongst market players.
