Ramat Gan, Israel – February 24, 2014: Buyers who arrive in Israel to participate in the April 6 to 10 US & International Diamond Week will meet hundreds of Israeli diamantaires who will be exhibiting their goods on the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) trading floor. What goods will they find and how broad is the range of diamonds to be offered?
“Israel is foremost an international diamond trading hub that combines a ready availability of polished diamonds, combined with top rated service,” said Moti Besser, IDE’s general manager. “While it is true that many Israeli manufacturers have traded up in the quality and size of the diamonds they produce, on the trading floor and in the four buildings of our diamond exchange complex, there are hundreds of traders who serve a myriad of market niches and offer diamond marketing services that cannot be found anywhere else,” Besser added.
Yadin Deutsch is an independent diamond trader who specializes in the sourcing and marketing of what are generally called “pique goods,” i.e. SI-3, I-1 and lower clarities. “There is a tremendous thirst in the downstream market for such goods,” Deutsch said. “These diamonds are affordable, available in good colors – commercial and collection – and good makes. I work – globally – with countless manufacturers and other traders, and in April will be displaying a wide selection of these particularly popular goods, from half caraters up to five carats,” he said.
Gil Fuss, also an IDE member, operates in a niche that is just a notch up. “I concentrate on acquiring – through a wide network of local and foreign manufacturers and traders – pique goods, but also in better clarities and colors, up to VVS1 and in colors D-J. These goods do well particularly in the mid-range jewelry markets,,” Fuss said.
“Buying Israeli means buying diamonds with confidence and credibility. Top rated service and accountability are an inseparable part of the product IDE members market and sell,” Besser concluded.
