The week-long gastronomical fest will treat customers to regional delicacies from all over India
New Delhi, January 11, 2016: After tasting success with its Machau Mondays concept, Bite Club, a Gurgaon-based a marketplace for chef prepared meals, recently announced its plans to launch the novel Musafir Hoon Yaaron campaign. The first initiative was intended at taking the sting out of Mondays for four consecutive weeks with a slew of tempting discounts, one rupee cookies, 100% cashbacks, free meals, discounted biryani plates and more. Picking up from the last Machau Monday, Musafir Hoon Yaaron will begin on January 18 and end on January 24. This innovative food tour will offer a chance to Delhi NCR residents to sample scrumptious, home-style regional cuisines.
Talking about the two back-to-back campaigns, Prateek Agarwal, CEO and Co-founder, BiteClub said, “Machau Mondays were quite a hit with Delhi and Gurgaon. We saw our sales skyrocket by 20%. The overwhelming response has encouraged us to prolong the campaign for a couple of months at least. It has also motivated us to experiment with yet another offering called Musafir Hoon Yaaron. For this, we have got migrant chefs in Delhi and Gurgaon to recreate popular regional dishes in the most authentic way. We’re hopeful that we will be able to delight foodies with this week-long medley of flavours.”
Since a majority of Delhi and NCR dwellers belong to other parts of the country themselves, the food tour will give them a chance to bask in the nostalgia associated with home. Experimental food enthusiasts can also pamper their taste buds by gorging on dishes they’ve never tasted before.
The first day of Musafir Hoon Yaaron will be reserved for Goan and Maharashtrian cuisine, day 2 for Andhra and Karnataka, day 3 for Kerala and Tamil Nadu, day 4 for Bengali and East-Indian food, day 5 for Punjabi, Himachali and Kashmiri cuisine, day 6 for Gujarati and Rajasthani fare and day 7 for Mughlai, Awadhi and Bihari specialities.
The buzz around these two food campaigns is witnessing increased participation with a number of followers on Facebook and on Twitter.”
About BiteClub
Bite Club is a Gurgaon-based marketplace for chef prepared meals. It was launched in late 2014 by Prateek Agarwal, Aushim Krishan, and Siddharth Sharma, alumni of IIT Kharagpur and NTU Singapore. Bite Club was conceptualized to make home style food accessible to everybody – easily, quickly, and affordably.
Sticking to their mantra of serving “Wholesome home style meals handmade by an expert community of chefs using the freshest ingredients,” it veers from regular restaurant fare. Bite Club lauds good and interesting food featuring a daily rotating lunch and dinner menu of sumptuous meals, desserts and drinks designed and prepared by chefs who promise innovation and variety with every meal.
It has raised first round of investment in February, 2015 from Powai Lake Ventures and a few other investors including Aneesh Reddy, co-founder & CEO at Capillary Technologies; Goibibo Group founder Ashish Kashyap; and Alok Mittal, ex-head of Canaan Partners India. Recently, BiteClub has raised Pre-Series A funding from growX ventures, The Phoenix Fund, and Powai Lake Ventures.
With an intention of solving the million dollar question of ‘what’s for lunch or dinner today’, Bite Club has conceptualized a platform by compiling a community of 150+chefs spanning home chefs, recipe bloggers, ex- restaurateurs, professional chefs and many more. It delivers guilt-free meals, desserts and drinks straight from their personal kitchens based on a revenue sharing agreement with the chefs. It lets its own team manage the technology, marketing and logistics, while leaving the chefs to focus on what they can do best- preparing exquisite meals. Within one year of its dawn, Bite Club has remarkably served over 100,000 meals to 15000+ customers.
By introducing the concept of ordering palatable and wholesome chef-designed cuisine in a time-impoverished society, Bite Club intends to put a high-quality meal on the table. The idea is to eventually develop a favored taste for chef prepared meals by cashing in on the rapidly urbanizing economy. This is further triggered by the intense mobile penetration that is boosting the growth of the food delivery segment
