Within the Gap between Industry and Academia: Efforts through Curriculum Design
New Delhi, June 17 , 2014; Asia-pacific Institute of management organized a discussion with prominent personalities to bridge the gap between industry and academic studies. This discussion witnessed the interaction of academic people with the stake holders from industry with a view to ameliorate the course structures, improve course pedagogy and modify the course outline which will facilitate the faculty to extend industry-oriented study to their students so that they get better employability prospects on completion of their management studies.
For this purpose, the senior Professors from different Indian Institutes of Management, other top management institutes and significantly important industry counterparts participated in this entire discussion. Professors from IIMs at Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Lucknow and MDI Gurgaon along with industry-experts from Hero MotoCorp, Radico Khaitan Ltd., Carnation Auto India Pvt. Ltd, etc. were invited for areas of marketing, finance, banking and financial services, risk management, operations management and decision sciences, information technology and system, international business, laws and economics.
