Engine and Transmission
Engines and drive train are signature areas of excellence at Audi. The all-new Audi A4 comes with a very efficient 1.4L TFSI four cylinder engine. The compact four-cylinder unit with a more advanced start-stop system has a displacement of 1,395 cc and generates an output of 150 hp with best in class fuel consumption of 17.84 kmpl. The all-new Audi A4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds with top speed of 210 km/h. The power train and the chassis have been completely redeveloped. The all-new Audi A4 now comes with a new 7 Speed S tronic transmission. The transmission now offers a fuel-saving freewheeling function called “Coasting Mode”. Wheel-selective torque control supplements the drive train.
Audi Virtual Cockpit
First fully digital dashboard, the Audi Virtual Cockpit is completely driver focused, every information is directly in front of the driver- from navigation arrows to dynamic animations and infotainment features. The 31.24 centimeter LCD displays the most important information in brilliant high-resolution graphics, with great detail and sophisticated effects. The Audi Virtual Cockpit offers display in two views: Classic and Progressive
Design and Body
Lightweight design has enjoyed very high priority at Audi for decades now. The all-new Audi A4 is 95 kg lighter than its predecessor on account of the use of an intelligent material mix. The length of 4.73 meters and a wheelbase of 2.82 meters give the all new Audi A4 a confident stance on the road.
Aerodynamic drag plays an important role in driving. In the all-new Audi A4, Audi engineers have been able to bring down the drag coefficient to the best in class figure of 0.25.A prominent horizontal line on the front and rear emphasizes the car’s width. The flowing design with concise lines communicates the sporty elegance of the brand. The Single frame grille is wide and low; the available LED headlights and rear dynamic turn indicators make technology a visual trademark.
Interior
The all-new Audi A4 is also a leader in its class in terms of comfort levels. All occupants enjoy generous space; the smooth lines emphasize the width of the interior. The front of the dashboard features a broad band of air outlets and a large decorative surface. The upper edges of the dashboard and the door trim border the interior in a wrap-around style with continuous air vent strip. At night, the lighting illuminates the interiors. The quality of workmanship is uncompromisingly high.
MMI and Infotainment
The all-new Audi A4 offers an abundance of intelligent technologies, the use of which is even more intuitive with the new Audi MMI display and control concept. Technological highlights include the Audi smart phone interface and the Audi phone box with wireless charging.
The MMI control concept in the center console is also a newly designed feature and acts as the main control element. The top-end infotainment system, MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch and a large 21 centimeter monitor, has a touchpad in the rotary controller to zoom in and out and to enter characters. The entire MMI control logic is similar to that of a smart phone and includes an intelligent free-text search function. The new, more natural, voice-control system also understands input in normal everyday language. The MMI control concept also has eight freely programmable favorite buttons to activate various features with a touch of a button.
MMI Navigation plus is backed by the computing power of the second-generation modular infotainment platform, which allows Audi to bring consumer electronics innovations into the vehicle quickly.
The Audi smart phone interface is a new feature. It integrates iOS and Android mobile phones into an environment developed especially for this purpose – Audi MMI. The Audi phone box connects smart phones to the on-board antenna and charges them inductively according to the Qi standard. Another function is the Audi smart phone interface – it brings Apple Car Play and Android Auto on board. When the customer plugs an iOS or Android smart phone into the USB port (iOS 7.1 and up, Android 5.0 Lollipop and up), smart phone contents such as navigation, telephone, music and selected third-party apps can be accessed in a separate MMI menu. The contents can be easily used via MMI or voice control.
Driving dynamics
The handling of all-new Audi A4 makes a great leap forward: on the one hand sporty and performance oriented, but with a focus on comfort at the same time. The suspension and steering filter out disturbances such as an uneven road surface, but communicate to the driver important information such as increases in lateral forces and tracking. This performance is based on the redeveloped five-link axles and the electromechanical power steering – they are exceptionally light. They lay the foundation for dynamic handling and first-class ride comfort while also reducing fuel consumption. The all-new Audi A4 comes with the Audi Drive Select with four driving modes- Auto, Comfort, Individual and Dynamic.
The Audi model range in India includes the Audi A3, Audi A3 Cabriolet, Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 L, Audi Q3, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi TT Coupé, Audi S5 Sportback, Audi RS 6 Avant, Audi RS 7 Sportback and Audi R8 V10 plus available across the various Audi dealerships in the country: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Goa, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Karnal, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Pune, Rajkot, Raipur, Ranchi, Surat, Thane, Udaipur, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam.
