The Bengal Chamber is organizing Meeting of Eastern Chambers – “Think Global Act Local” on 14th January 2015 (in The Bengal Chamber premises) to discuss internally how the Chambers can work together and what structure this proposed forum would have. With the global economic order increasingly impacting local business environment and businesses themselves, it is a most opportune time to “Think Global. Act Local.” There is a need for Chambers of Commerce in the East to come together and create a common platform for the greater benefit of their memberships. This forum can be utilized for B2B networking, communicating with the local Governments, experience / best practices sharing and even for addressing day-to-day operational issues faced by the cross-section of their members who might need a helping hand from Partner Chambers while transacting business in neighbouring States. The objective is to create an efficient network for Chambers of Commerce in the East (including those even beyond our Eastern borders), which would be the common forum for all the members to utilize for business networking and even logistics help for travel, among other areas. Principally, the idea is to create a relevant platform for regional Chambers to work together on common issues and also help each other out in the context of improved services to the members. Shri Shekhar Dutt, Hon’ble Former Governor of Chhattisgarh will grace the programme. Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Sarin, Senior Faculty, Area of Marketing and Strategic Management & Labour Relations, XLRI will moderate the Meeting.
