bodyshopThe original, natural and ethical beauty brand The Body Shop, launched S.H.E. – SUPPORT HER EDUCATION campaign aimed at educating 100 girls in need, in association with Food for  Life  Vrindavan (FFLV) in March 2014.

The Campaign which is being endorsed by famous Bollywood actor and philanthropist ‘Vivek Oberoi’, has received tremendous response from the customers who have generously contributed towards the noble cause of educating girls. Speaking on the joyous occasion, Shriti Malhotra, COO – The Body Shop India, says “We are very happy that this initiative has been so well appreciated by our customers who have responded very generously to support the education, food and healthcare of underprivileged girls. On an average women receive only 1.8 years of schooling in India, so this support from our customers is truly for a worthy cause. We are grateful that so far we have been to achieve a small but significant landmark in the 1st few months and we will complete our target to educate 100 girls, very soon. “

Celebrated actor Vivek Oberoi added, “We started this campaign with the hope of supporting and contributing towards the upliftment of girl child empowerment and getting them an avenue to establish their individual identities. I’m very excited with the progress so far and I urge others to contribute and help these girls get a brighter future.”

Through the 100+ stores of The Body Shop India, funds are being raised to support the education of 100 underprivileged girls. In this yearlong campaign, every customer is requested to donate a small amount of Rs 10 with their purchase at the store or by shopping online at http://www.thebodyshop.in/
